What’s Happening: How vitamins D, A, and K2 can help Fight COVID19
Welcome to my “News and Events” Blog! As a doula and childbirth educator, an amazing part of my job is to not only provide my clients with the information needed for them to make informed decisions but to take them straight to the source of that information! I am incredibly passionate about my own continued education and spend a lot of time attending webinars, classes, and reading up on the latest health recommendations for pregnant, birthing, and postpartum persons. Nearly a year into this pandemic, scientists are learning more and more about the best ways to stay healthy. Today, I want to talk about a new study supporting high doses of vitamins D, A, and K2 presented by Dr. Mobeen Syed, full Youtube Video linked below.
The World Health Care Journal quotes one of the authors of the study as saying, “Our pilot study demonstrated that administration of a high dose of calcifediol (Vitamin D) significantly reduced the need for ICU treatment of patients requiring hospitalization due to proven Covid-19.” This is amazing news! Unlike other COVID advise based on risk factors, such as obesity and age, raising your consumption of specific vitamins is a much more controllable variable. The study also brings incredibly welcome news to hospitals facing overcrowding during the cold and flu season, as administration of these vitamins can lower patients chances of admittance to the ICU.
For many in the more naturally minded community, this news is nothing new. With nearly every article I read and every video I watch covering this study, I see comments from people who have been taking these exact vitamins every cold and flu season for years or even decades to keep healthy. I remember listening to one of my favorite podcasts, Heal Thy Self, run by Dr. Christian Gonzalez that covered the importance of each of these vitamins for fighting cold-and-flu-like sicknesses well before COVID19 was known to exist. Dr Mobeen Syed says in his video, “We have been talking about vitamin D for four months now. It is incredibly important . . . we should all be taking it.”
Watch the full video below to learn more about the awesome effects of these vitamins, how the study was conducted, and all of the fantastic research!
As always,
Thank you so much for reading and God Bless!
