What’s in my Doula Bag?

  • Thick yoga mat to make those hard floors more comfortable on our joints!

  • A mini fan, hang it around your neck to keep you cool while walking or prop it up for a light breeze

  • Handmade massage tool made from tennis balls, a sock, and hair ties. Does it look kinda grungy? Yes. Is it one of my client’s favorite massage tools? also yes.
Two small combs for squeezing (hits acupressure points in your hands) or for light scratches

  • Wireless heating pad with vibrating capabilities, has three heat and vibration settings (perfectly safe to use on low back and/or belly)

  • Wooden rolling massage tool, mostly used for leg labor

  • Plastic massage tool, great for leg and low back labor

  • Essential Oils

    • Peppermint Oil for nausea or wooziness

    • Breathe to help open the airways for full breathing

  • Cotton Balls to put peppermint on for easy disposal if you decide you don’t like the smell

  • Robozo with my handy wooden spoon!
Note: The wooden spoon is a trick for people who prefer to be touched as little as possible or who wish to control the tension of the robozo on their abdomen themselves

  • Honey sticks

  • Protein Bars

  • Nutrigrain bars

  • Peppermints

  • Bone Broth

  • Squinchers (like a sugar free Gatorade)

  • Tablet cleverly disguised as a Composition Notebook

  • Waterproof bluetooth speaker with bra clip

  • Portable charger

  • My TENS unit
Notes: Pads are replaced after each client who uses them, clients control the unit, including where the pads are placed and how high the unit is turned

  • My personal care kit (so I can freshen up if needed, I will also pack extra clothing)

  • Organic, naturally rose scented lotion

  • Vagina Juice (essential oil mixture locally sources specifically mixed for birth)

  • Vaseline

  • Q-tips for applying Vaseline

One of my certificates to prove my status as a fully certified doula, not required by all hospitals but better to be safe than sorry!
